The brand’s philosophy is rooted in the idea of balancing health, nature, and the soul through food, as reflected in its name- Athrini, derived from Sanskrit, meaning three A’s: Atman (soul), Aarogyam (health), and Aikyam (harmony with nature). Unlike mass-produced brands, Athrini emphasizes small-batch production to maintain quality and ensure that each product is crafted with care.

Janani’s (founder of Athrini) journey with Athrini started as a personal one. As a former corporate lawyer, she thrived on problem-solving, but she longed to create something meaningful- something that aligned with her values. Her love for animals led her towards a plant-based lifestyle, and her passion for mindful eating inspired her to reimagine the way we look at food. Too often, gluten-free and plant-based options are seen as compromises- bland, inferior, or something people “settle” for. Janani wanted to change that. And that’s why she started Athrini.
